Martingale betting is a method of betting twice the original bet when you lose. If you bet 1 won and win, you get 1 won. If you lose, you bet 2 won, which is twice the amount of 1 won. If you lose again here, your loss will be 3 won. So, if you win by betting 4 won, which is twice the amount of the previous game, your principal will be recovered and a profit of 1 won will be generated from the initial bet.
